The Get-Paid-To List

There are countless websites out there that claim they will pay you for completing offers. If you do a search on your own, you will find many websites with such claims. As to their legitimacy, you should trust your gut. If the website doesn’t look or feel right to you, don’t bother. It is most likely a scam.

I have only tried a handful of Get-Paid-Tos, and the websites below are the ones that have paid me, so I can attest to their legitimacy.

1. MyPoints

This company offers points for reading e-mail advertisements, shopping, surveys, free registrations, registrations that require a credit card, games, and more. The e-mail advertisements pay 5 points for clicking, and through them I have come across some great online shopping deals! MyPoints is partnered with tons of merchants. You can redeem your points for gift cards once your point balance reaches 1,400.

**Note - for the following three companies, I have displayed my referral link. If you would like to be my referral, great! If not, feel free to go to the main website address and sign up un-referred.

2. TreasureTrooper

Get paid cash for completing sign-ups, taking daily surveys, shopping, and more. If you try this one out, make sure to browse the Treasure Trooper Forums for some great tips. This one also has a great referral program!

3. CashCrate

Very similar to Treasure Trooper, but they offer two paid daily surveys instead of one. Again, browse the forums! There is a wealth of information there that you want to see before you get started.

4. Creations Rewards

Paid Surveys - Getting Started and The Good List

My primary online money-maker is paid surveys. When I say “primary,” I am not referring to an extremely large sum of money. The most important thing to understand about online surveys and other similar money-makers is that you are not going to get rich. I wouldn’t recommend quitting your day (or night) job.

But the point is not to get rich – it is to make, and save, a little extra money by doing something free and easy. Online surveys are accessible anywhere, anytime, from any PC with internet access. If you are like me, and you don’t have the time to take on a second job, online surveys are the perfect option.

Below are all of the survey companies I love. I recommend signing up with as many as possible, if not all. Individual surveys do not pay more than a few dollars, so the bulk of survey money comes from being signed up with many different companies. Some of these companies pay in dollars, some pay in points which are then converted to dollars or gift cards during the redemption process. ALL of the companies below have paid me in some form or another.

The general process is as follows:
  • You sign up with a company and give them all of your demographic information.** This includes your name, address, age, sex, marital status, etc. Give the company your real information – they can’t pay you if you give them a fake address.
  • The company sends a confirmation link to your e-mail address. You click on it and log in to the site.
  • You fill out your profile surveys. These are unpaid general surveys that the company uses to get an idea of your interests, hobbies, thoughts, daily activities, product usage, etc. They can seem time consuming, but the volume of paid survey opportunities you receive will shoot skyward if you fill all of them out.
  • You can then check your inbox for paid survey invitations. Be patient – it takes most companies a couple weeks from the time you register to start sending you invitations.
  • Have fun!

** A note on the information required by survey companies - none of the companies I have listed here will ask you for your social security number, bank account info, or other super secret information that you would be unwilling to give. I refuse to give out this type of information. I know other survey takers who have given their SS# to some sites they deem reputable, but I am not comfortable with that. So please know that none of the sites listed below will require that kind of info for payment!

1. Survey Spot

Take surveys for cash with incentives ranging from around $2.00 - $20.00, depending on the length and subject matter. You can cash out once your account balance reaches $5.00. They also offer surveys for Sweepstakes only, but they send plenty of paid ones. Payment method is a check.

Alternative Payment Method

Most companies will pay you with either checks or gift certificates. However, several companies offer Paypal as an option, which is great. You can set up an account by going to www.paypal.com. It is free, secure, and incredibly easy to set up. It basically links your bank account to your Paypal account and all you have to give to the survey companies is your Paypal e-mail address. I love this option. I wish all of the companies offered it!

Save my regular income!? Good Lord.

Everyone knows the value of saving money. It's just that some of us are a little more challenged at it than others. Over the last couple of years, I have become quite the online money addict. I participate in surveys, research groups, and product tests, among other things. Skeptics are rampant, but the fact is, the online survey industry can make you a nice chunk of extra money if you are willing to put the time in. And the beauty of it is when you can learn NOT to spend it. I used to be less than diligent when it came to saving money. I'm still not the greatest at it, but now that I am making money online, I have made a personal rule that whatever comes from my online work goes straight to the piggy bank. Here I will share my experiences as well as the best sites for making the money. Once you start making some extra income, you will see how easy it is to become a better saver!
